In this rooftop apartment, it’s not just the view that catches the eye: the tasteful interior design choices made by Eveline Tytgat are equally worthy.
Natural materials such as wood, metal and stone are beautifully balanced throughout the home, from the open-plan living, dining room and kitchen to the bedroom and bathroom.
There’s an art to maintaining a wonderfully consistent look whilst highlighting certain pieces in the home – and this interior excels in it. Simple, white walls are an excellent backdrop for Decospan’s dramatically dark Shinnoki Stardust Walnut wood veneer – and this, in turn, is perfectly matched with other natural elements such as a dark bronze and a light stone.
In fact, the pairing works so well that the main feature of the TV-wall isn’t actually the screen, but the seamless blend between the dusky wood and the cloudy bronze.
But there are more showstopping elements to the home: the unique fireplace unit with built-in dining table is resplendent in our Shinnoki wood veneer and sits on a lightly speckled stone slab as a welcome contrast to the wood’s pronounced character.
Although the misconception exists that the abundant use of dark wood can be overwhelming in an interior, this home is proof that it can be done – and beautifully so.
If you’re looking for a favourite place that’s a cocoon of style and warmth, look no further.
