A warm welcome

“Understanding a client’s lifestyle is key to designing spaces that feel personal.” When Dirk Vercuysse began designing this residential project, his goal was clear: to modernize the warm, inviting atmosphere of his client’s previous home while preserving its essence.

For the architect, it’s not just about creating a beautiful space. It’s about crafting a place that truly feels like home.

How does he achieve this?
It all starts with one material. In this case, a natural stone floor became the foundation. From there, he built a mood board that skilfully balanced structure and warmth, setting the tone for the rest of the design.

Dirk Vercruysse approaches each project with care and precision. He often takes clients to Decospan’s veneer house, where materials are presented on a grand scale.

Why? Because seeing materials in their full size ensures his clients know exactly what to expect. No surprises, just seamless alignment with their vision.

This project’s design revolved around one defining element: Shinnoki Frozen Walnut

Why choose this veneer?
Its perfect balance of warmth and structure. The soft, natural tones and the distinctwood grain create a sleek, minimalist interior that remains inviting and timeless.

Shinnoki prefinished veneer panels simplify the process for designers, millworkers and clients alike. Their consistent quality ensures that what you see in the showroom matches what will be installed in the final project. Dirk Vercruysse didn’t just design an interior, he created a home.

Subtle details make all the difference.

Shinnoki Frozen Walnut introduces texture and depth, elevating the house into a space of authenticity and comfort. For the architect, it was the ideal choice. It paired beautifully with the natural stone floor, bringing cohesion to the entire design.
