The hotel consists of a collection of five historic buildings and a botanical garden transformed into a luxurious retreat in the heart of Antwerp. It also boasts an in-house spa and health centre, a new addition to the former monastery complex.
Designed by AIDarchitecten, Botanic Sanctuary’s new health centre includes a wellness, swimming pool and private gym.
The space is beautifully enhanced by the extensive use of acoustic wood panels from the Woodcoustics collection by Triplaco and Decospan, adding a touch of natural elegance and warmth.
They combine both function and aesthetics, being composed of an acoustic absorbent panel and a top layer of the Oak Natural Allegro wood veneer from Decospan’s Querkus collection.
In the gym, the chosen acoustic panel was Db as part of a lowered wooden ceiling – a clever way minimise the reverberation of sounds you can typically find in a gym, emphasising the feeling of relaxation that is present throughout the space.
For the wellness area, Gs was selected: a new waterproof acoustic panel with an almost perfect reverberation (class A absorption), greatly contributing to the visitor’s comfort.
A more serene setting cannot be imagined once one has stepped foot in this peaceful refuge. It can easily become a favourite place to retreat to after a long day of walking around the city or spent in tedious business meetings.
