The owners of this Harelbeke home had their dream kitchen designed to be chic and practical. All the kitchen appliances have been tastefully tucked away in the island behind cabinet doors and drawers in a beautiful dark wood finish. Combined with the broad light surfaces of the walls, floor, and worktop, the black designer stools, and the on-trend black taps, the effect is refined and tasteful. The dark sinks have been elegantly undermounted in the worktop, making them convenient to clean and incredibly stylish. It’s a kitchen that could easily feature in the pages of an interior design magazine.
Sleek design elements occasionally come off as cold or sterile, but thats not the case here at all. The dark brown veneer of the American Walnut kitchen fronts adds a hint of nature and a large dose of warm, home-is-where-the-heart-is feeling to this beautiful light and inviting kitchen.
Decospan provided this project with a custom veneer, a walnut finished with a mix-matched jointing technique. With this jointing technique, the veneer strips are jointed randomly to dynamically alternate colour and structure for a captivating yet cohesive effect. Mix-matched is the veneer alternative for the plank effect of solid wood. If you have an authentic, natural look in mind – its perfect.
